A survivor of the Owo massacre has shared his escape story with journalists while revealing more details about the brutal attack.
Recall that some unknown gunmen attacked St Francis Xavier Catholic church in Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Sunday, 5th June and killed a lot of individuals.
The survivor who is undoubtedly one of the luckiest persons today said that the incident occurred after Mass (Service).
According to him, he saw some individuals with AK47 and they first gunned down the people at the gate before heading into the church.
Speaking to BBC Pidgin, he disclosed that upon seeing the gunmen, he and some boys immediately hid under the chair. He said he was still holding his bible and asked God if that was how he was going to die.
He added that the gunmen focused their attention on the altar because many people took shelter there upon seeing them.

The chair he hid under seemed to be the chair in the church, so hence the armed men channeled their attention on those at the front, he was able to survive the massacre.
